Valerie Wise
Val arranged her first mortgage in 1974, working at the Royal Bank branch which is today well known as the city’s landmark Munro’s Books. She has worked as a broker since the dawn of the industry. Honesty, integrity and frank advice combined with deep industry knowledge and personal life experiences make Val an incredible advisor. Regularly she now works with the children and grandchildren of previous clients, and has been told on multiple occasions that she is the one reliable constant in a client's life. Val has seen dramatic evolution in the mortgage industry, and many market cycles. Those that know her well will appreciate however that despite experiencing all this change, her technological proficiency has remained constant at early 1970's levels. Outside of work, Val's loves are walking with the office dogs, getaways to Vegas but mostly enjoying time with her four grandchildren.
Nick Wise
Born and raised in Victoria, Nick's lifetime has been spent developing expertise in mathematics, construction, and real estate. A graduate of Oak Bay High School, Nick then graduated from UVic with a BSc in Chemistry and Mathematics. After working in a large corporate environment in Vancouver for a few years, Nick realized that though committed and hardworking (or perhaps specifically because of his commitment and hard work), he did not make a great employee! Nick returned to Victoria in 2004 and found his calling in the mortgage industry. Admittedly a numbers guy, Nick's greatest professional satisfaction is in finding elegant ingenious financing solutions for clients. Outside of the office, you will find Nick trying to go fishing, immersed in a renovation project which has gone beyond schedule and over budget, or travelling the world with his wife Adriana and three children.
Laurie Anne Faulkner
Laurie Anne came to the mortgage world in 2002 after a very successful real estate sales career. Always with a smile on her face, Laurie Anne's clients enjoy her enthusiasm, professionalism and deep industry knowledge. Laurie Anne always puts in the extra effort for clients and her personal commitment to results is obvious from your first meeting. The worst part about working with Laurie Anne is that her name is frequently misspelled or develops an extra hyphen. To make it easy, feel free to use "LAF". Outside of the office, Laurie Anne is involved in her family kite surfing business, Ocean Rodeo. She lives with her husband Richard and has two children who are now young adults. In her free time LAF will be found walking her puppy Baloo or socializing with her good friends.
Adriana Wise
Adriana was born and spent the first 18 years of her life living behind the Iron Curtain in Bulgaria. She has come a long way from living in a society which did not have a free market in real estate or anything else! She moved to Victoria in 1992 and attended the University of Victoria, graduating with a BSc and MSc in mathematics. After graduation she spent many years teaching University level mathematics while also raising three young children. Always with a keen interest in the mortgage business, 2019 saw Adriana take the plunge and become a mortgage broker. Her passion for deep understanding and attention to detail have already set her on the path to success. In her free time, you will likely find Adriana at the gym, hiking with her friends, chilling at the beach, or more likely putting up with some crazy plan of Nick's and living in a construction site with her three kids.
Steve Nguyen
Steve is a serial entrepreneur who loves to brainstorm and advise clients with a focus on the business minded. Steve's life started in a Vietnamese refugee camp. He grew up with each day being a lesson in the value of hard work. His career has included working as a mechanic, running ice cream kiosks on the causeway to an ongoing career as a very successful real estate agent. Steve develops deep connections with his clients and, after years of being asked for help and guidance with obtaining financing, Steve realized that he had to add one more skill to his repertoire. Outside of work, Steve is probably still working. If not, he is spending quality time with two young children and wife Jaquie.
Cooper Wise
Cooper can only be contacted by visiting the office for an in person meeting. He is a bit shy on financial advice but he makes up for it with his enthusiasm to see you walk in the door!
